Chances are that you will have an accident sooner or later, so its a good idea to be prepared. Keep paper, pen and the phone numbers of your agent and insurance company in your vehicle.
- Call the police.
- Don't move your car unless it is blocking traffic or causing a hazard. The police can get a better idea of what occurred if they can note the exact position of the vehicles involved.
- Call an ambulance if anyone is hurt.
- Clear the area and call the fire department and if you smell or see leaking gasoline.
- Do not stand in the roadway or in the way of traffic.

- Write down details of the accident while you are still on the scene if possible. Collect names and phone numbers of any witnesses.
